WAKEUP - Mark skating in Arizona (Photos by Dale Travers)
Mark Wojda is a badass, he brings intensity and passion to every skate session. He recently flew out to Arizona to film for “WAKEUP”, to see what the desert has to offer. The first time that Mark booked his ticket out here, during screening at the airport he was looked at twice. He wasn’t sure what the deal was, but when security pulled a pair of brass knuckles out of his backpack, then it clicked. He won the weapon at the “brass knuckle beat down” contest, his prize was a pair of real brass knucks. That morning he called and informed me, he wasn’t able to come out. He got arrested at the airport. Mark told me he had a lawyer, and would try to fly out asap. Great success! Here are a couple pics that Dale Travers took while visiting here from Australia.

This spot was super far away but worth driving out to. Some local skaters deep in Phoenix found this spot. (Mark Wojda True top soyal)

Consider this spot played out by now after Mark skated it. This is one of the 3 tricks he did on this rail first try. (Mark Wojda True top acid)

This is a part of a line that Mark did at Mesa High (360 over a 12 stair)

He also won $300 of my hard earned cash, not just the brass knuckles. And his name is spelled Wojda, pronounced Voida because he is Polish. Not Wodja. The journalistic credibility of this web site just slipped a few notches.

Sorry Im not a journalist. Im a filmmaker. Sometimes things slip. Its great you put in your own money to make a decent prize for your contest.
